Hi guys, I am Linda Lu Solicitor and I hate seeing people taken advantage of, and I despise seeing people suffer as a result of hiring the incorrect lawyer. Perhaps those are two of the reasons I became a lawyer, to be able to help people in similar situations. I've witnessed clients whose lawyers ignored their cases for months, if not years. I've heard of lawyers who refused to tell their clients what was going on with their case. However, if the client contacted to inquire about what was going on, the client would be billed. I've heard stories about lawyers taking money from clients without a clear knowledge of the parties' expectations.
The List of Mistakes After you Have Selected a Lawyer:
- Not asking for a written fee agreement
- Not asking to read a document before you sign it.
- Failure to ask for a copy of what you sign
- Failure to keep copies
- Failure to ask questions
- Failure to stay in touch
- Failure to provide a cell phone number.
